Project for social housing in the unplanned settlement of Kawe, Dar es Salaam. The project is an incremental housing scheme, starting with a base unit designed for future expansion by the residents themselves. The base unit ensures that additions can be built sustainably, providing good light, ventilation, and minimal disruption to neighbors. The houses use locally available materials such as clay brick, timber, and simple steel structures, relying on existing craftsmanship in the area.
