A contemplative pavilion that can be placed anywhere in a city to offer an opportunity for relaxation and pause. The structure consists of two layers of channel plastic, where the outer layer, visible from the outside, is orthogonal. The inner layer is broken and distorts the view. This creates a clear barrier between inside and outside, between the city and tranquility. A single layer of channel plastic allows for transparency, but two distorted layers turn the city and the view into noise. Toward the sky, there is only one layer. It makes you feel like you’re still in the city, but right now, you’re not a part of it. It’s you, the sky, and serenity. It’s a pause, even though the city is still present and just outside.
